KOF’s Vision
Sickle Gene International Foundation is a U.S.-based foundation established by KOF before his passing to support sickle cell disease advocacy, education, research, and treatment around the globe.
KOF helped to form a Founding Board, with an agreed upon vision and mission for the future. Accordingly, not long after KOF passed away, those FoundingBoard Members registered the Sickle Gene International Foundation as a 501c3 nonprofit organization, incorporated in the state of Pennsylvania.
The Board is actively engaged in building an international foundation that will align with the goals of the Global Sickle Cell Disease Network and the Sickle Cell Foundation of Ghana, as KOF envisioned.
As this Board continues to do the work of building a solid foundation, we will be seeking your support in the near future.
In 2004, KOF and other concerned people in Ghana established the Sickle Cell Foundation of Ghana(SCFG).SCFG supports the development of resources and services to improve the health and quality of life of people with sickle cell disease and related conditions.
